Dear Member,
This year sees the continuation
of the Lisburn Cricket Club fantasy
league competition. This has become
an integral and vitally important
fund raising competition for the
club and I would urge you to enter
a team and if you can, persuade
some others to do so.
You will know that we recently held
an EGM of the club at which the
precarious financial situation we
find ourselves in was highlighted.
We really do need your continuing
support with the fantasy league.
This year’s competition is
a little different from the previous
years and the enclosed rules highlights
these differences.
The good news is that the entry
fee remains unchanged for the 4th
year in a row. It is still just
the £20 to enter and please
feel free to go where no entrant
has gone before, and enter more
than once! The Fantasy season will
run from Saturday 6th May 2006 until
the last scheduled weekend of 3rd
September 2006. Once again, there
will be 100 bonus points on offer
if entries are received and paid
for before 6th May, and that could
be the difference between being
a prize winner and an also ran.
Entries will be accepted after that
date but remember, points cannot
be awarded retrospectively.
Michael Foster is once again organising
the competition and entries can
be E-mailed to him at leftarmfast2@hotmail.com,
texted to 07740986343 or handed
to him at the club at any time before
the closing date. Cheques should
be made payable to Lisburn Cricket
Club.
Good luck!!!!

Half way mark in the Fantasy League and it is developing into an intriguing battle at the top. Ibiza soon to be deportee Halliday still leads the way but only narrowly to the surging Mary Simpson, the faltering organiser and the honourable challenge of the defending champion. Plenty of time and games to go in an open race.

FANTASY CUP – QUARTER FINAL UPDATE
Tony – v- Fozzy Halligay –v- Gillian Allen Richard Simpson snr –v Pedro Boris – v- Spaniel
At the half way mark in the Fantasy Cup quarter final ties, I have a small lead over Tony (722-698), while Richard is winning the battle of the Simpson’s by around a hundred points (819-717). Spaniel is going to require Jeffrey N to get the finger out against Woodvale if he is to stand any hope of clawing back a 200 pt deficit against Boris (648-446) but the tie of the round is Halliday and Gillian Allen who are tied on 647 at the moment with all to play for this weekend. Can Gillian cause an upset and knock out the league leader?
POINTS SCORED BY TEAM FROM 28 JUNE – 11 JULY INCLUSIVE COUNT FOR THIS ROUND.
